Out & About: An even BETTER place than ever: The Strip Club 104, Greer,SC

There are few things in life that make me happier in life than sampling great food and great beer while spending time with my family INCLUDING my furry baby. So, when I find a place where I can combine all those things, then I'm one happy girl.

If you've visited our blog before, you may have seen our previous review of The Strip Club 104 and you'll know how much we enjoyed the food... if not the beer selection. So, after seeing a recent FaceBook post about a new beer list, hubby and I knew we just had to get down there again soon.

Combine that with seeing the restaurant is pet-friendly, thanks to, I knew we wouldn't wait long to visit!

Once Friday night rolled around, we grabbed the puppy and headed out. If you enjoy outdoor dining, the patio area at the restaurant is a great place to relax. Friday nights often feature live music and we were happy to see we'd be listening to a great guitarist during dinner.

Our tip: head over early on busy weekend nights! We arrived just before 6pm and had a choice of tables on the patio, but they quickly filled up. Chef Jason greeted us AND went to find our puppy a water bowl so she could enjoy some refreshment too. That's what makes the difference between a place that "allows" doggies and loves doggies.

Then, it was time to figure out what we would try for beer! The new list is divided into bottles and cans. I was quite happy to find both North Carolina and South Carolina breweries - Oskar Blues, Thomas Creek and Westbrook  - represented as well as some of the bigger name craft breweries like Avery. Of course, standard beer fare is available too.

Our first round choices were rather tame: an Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale and Westbrook's Rye Pale Ale. Both are solid beers that really feel great on a warm patio on a Friday Night.

Next up: Young's Double Chocolate Stout and a Westbrook IPA. Great choices to finish off the night.

As for the food? Well, you really can't go wrong - no matter your choices. This trip we had the Flaming Saganaki cheese which is doused in Cognac and Lemon (ok, get two. seriously), the garlic biscuits with olive oil and sweet chili sauce, Sweet Potato Crunch, and a Plain Jane steak with Onion Rings. My only regret? I was too full for dessert. Sigh. Maybe next time... IF I don't fill up on the cheese!
